I'm SB, a self-taught artist based in Phoenix, Arizona.

In 2016 I was in a mental dark place and needed to find a healthy outlet. I turned to YouTube University (proud alum) and I watched tutorials on how to draw realistic facial features and found that I was actually good at it. After a few sketches in a notepad, my cousin gifted me with an Apple pen and the rest was history. I started sharing what I made during those quiet, heavy moments and people responded — turns out something made in darkness can still be beautiful. That's pretty much the whole point.

In 2020, I made it official, but needed a name. I'd been hearing the word "prolific" a lot and remixed it into something that felt more like me. Soulific.

My work is rooted in Black culture, the people and moments that shape us, and the beauty of our community. Each original piece, iconic figures, nostalgia, pop culture is all intentional. I want whoever comes across my work to feel seen, expressed, and good.

Beyond the art, I work as a children and family media consultant and researcher. Different medium, same mission.

I create because it makes me feel good. I hope it does the same for you.
